The Buffalo News is starting a new free concert series in the plaza outside the HSBC Tower. Kicking off the event at 4:30 pm on Friday, June 11 is one of buffaBLOG's favorite musicians, Brownman. We have mentioned Brownman's shows recently on buffaBLOG because he has been visiting our city from Toronto a lot lately, but this show is different then his others. Brownman is performing a tribute to Miles Davis with some of Buffalo's most talented jazz musicians: electric bassist Rodney Appleby; upright bassist Bill Staebell and his drumming son Aaron; Andy Weinzler on tenor sax; Angelo Di Loreto on piano; drummer Tim Webb, and members of Type Relevant. This concert series is happening every second friday of the summer months and we've been told the entire lineup is stellar... so stay tuned for more of these announcements.
