Tonight: Tears for Fears

Tears for Fears will be forever linked to the cult film "Donnie Darko "(2001). And while the band’s dreamy synth pop provides a perfect backdrop for Donnie’s moody, existential musings, its songs also stand on their own quite well.

Tears for Fears is one of those bands whose songs you know without really being conscious of it. They may not be at the top of your must-see list, but I bet we could catch you singing along to “Shout,” “Head Over Heels,” “Everybody Wants to Rule the World,” and the much-covered “Mad World.”

So indulge your inner new wave fan and head to the 2010 Molson Canal Concert Series in Lockport tonight. Admission and parking are FREE. Missing Star, Caitlin & Jamie Moses Band, and Pillagers open the show, which starts at 5:30 pm. For directions, visit www.canalconcerts.com.

  1. this show is gonna be killer!

  2. They were very good. I was sort of suprised how many of their songs that I knew. The real highlight was the band that opened for them Missing Star. Sucks that we only got to hear three songs from them.
