Tonight, Wavves front man Nathan Williams will most likely embarrass himself somehow. It could just be bickering with his band mates like a old married couple, but there is always a chance of something much worst. Nathan doesn’t care what you think though. That is what makes his music so authentic. He’s a skateboard/surfer punk who smokes a bunch of weed and plays Nintendo.He doesn’t kid himself into thinking he’s something he’s not. Its this honest approach to music that makes him so likable. And he’s only getting better as a musician. Wavves’ latest album King of the Beach is a much more polished piece of work. By getting rid of the lo-fi bedroom sound he started with, Williams can no longer get away sloppy guitar playing. On some of the new songs he even dives into a heavy electronic vibe sounding like a poor man’s Panda Bear. Its going to be night full of spilled PBRs, ripped jeans and maybe even a crowd surfer or two. Tickets are only 15 bucks and doors open at 8:30
