Desire Path Recordings, the Buffalo based record label that specializes in microambient-experimental-field recording, has just issued it first release. The new 12'LP by Solo Andata is titled Ritual and its exactly what you would expect from the description above. The 4 song LP is a very interesting and moody piece of work. Songs, however, might be the wrong word to describe these compositions. They are more like 4 pieces of audio artwork. Solo Andata sonically paints us a dark and forbidding picture using bells, piano, organic environmental recordings. This kind of stuff makes for great background noise while working on the computer doing some other monotonous errands around the house. .
