Tonight, buffaBLOG"s favorite electro pop artist finally get around to playing that show they rescheduled from September. Their Yeasayer meets MGMT meets Passion Pit meets The Flaming Lip sound has been catching on lately. Simply put, they are playing the 'it' sound at the right time. Their debut album Collect Vibrations is an impressive and near flawless piece of work and i strongly encourage you to pick up a copy at tonight's show. I have a feeling this band is going to have a big 2011. Also on the bill are the minimalist, nature expressionism of (at sea). With ghostly vocals similar to a dead M.Ward or Bon Iver, and music that is rich in texture (at sea) have a sound that stretches and expands a vast amount of space. Just like the ocean! It rises and falls like the waves. Sometimes calm, sometimes a little rough, but always beautiful. Check out the song 'Bones' and you'll see what I mean. Their new album, due out later this fall, is sure to bring new attention to another great Buffalo band. Rounding out the gig, is the Boston based band The Hush Nows. I know next to nothing about this band other than the fact that they are from Boston, but you can listen to them here. Tonights show is at Mohawk Place and cover is 5$
