The Wise and Kind Old Souls (wakos) have been big on the Buffalo music scene since 2005. They've already recorded an album (check it out) and now they are venturing into expressing their music in film. So many great bands have created some of my favorite documentary films (RHCP's Funky Monks, Arcade Fire's Mirror Noir) and the wakos video has a similar greatness. Working with local filmmaker, Brian Gorman, wakos members Chris Young and Kevin Crowley recorded their new track "Come into the Street" in a stairway at UB. Crowley has been rehearsing in this stairway for 8 years and when you hear the beautiful reverb and airiness created on the track you'll see why. The video is only one track of the EP they recorded in the stairway and its all captured on film to be released in the upcoming months. You can see the wakos perform live at Sonoma Grille on March 4th and McGarretts on March 25th. Until then, enjoy the video they created and keep an eye out for more. I've been told the wakos have some exciting things to bring to the local music scene in 2011.

I bought some of there music on the bands website and summer comes again is a kickass song that has me jacked up for summer sun. its been a cold winter cant wait to see them live and have a beer in the summer sun cheers!!!
Yo Jon you were right that video is great. i like the fact that there still are kids out there that have some soul left in there music. Todays music is all machine lets bring back some talented players and dude is that guy playing his guitar upside down? i dont know why i like this music its not my cup of tea well the acoustic stuff anyway i prefer a full band but even without i cant get the lyrics out of my head. that video i guess was recorded live so i coud just imagine what these guys are like live cant wait to check em out
The video is alright it does capture a vibe and its a cool song. I have seen the band live they capture the same vibe live and definatly have found there own sound. They have always played good when I have seen them but some show have been better than others. Keep rockin WAKOS (:!
