Arcade Fire to release deluxe edition of The Suburbs, two new songs

Later this summer, Arcade Fire, who are still riding high after winning Album of the Year at this year's Grammys for their third full length The Suburbs, will release the expanded deluxe edition to the album.  The band, who are also busy headlining just about every music festival this year, including Austin City Limits and the Bonnaroo's 10 year anniversary, found the time to record two new songs to be included in the special edition.  "Culture Wars" sounds like a nice mix of "Wasted Hours" and "The Suburbs", while "Speaking in Tongues"(my favorite of the two) features a rather jangly melody with backing vocals and what sounds like yelping from David Byrne.  A DVD will be included in the package, featuring the short film Scenes From The Suburbs.  The trailer to the Spike Jonze directed film, which follows a group of teens living in a town that seems to be under complete military control, can be viewed here.  The deluxe edition of Arcade Fire's  The Suburbs will be released on August 2nd.
