Cake has been popular since the late 90s when their second album, Fashion Nugget, was released. They are famous for the half-sung, half-spoken vocal styles of lead singer John McCrea and their creative use of trumpet. "Never There", "Short Skirt/Long Jacket" and "Jolene" are some of my personal favorite singles... but they are also brilliant at covers. They played an amazing sold out show at the Town Ballroom last time they were here in Buffalo. Tickets for tonight's Cake show at Artpark were still available in the reserved seating for $40. Show begins at 8:00pm.
