Boozy alt roots rockers Drive-By Truckers will be stopping by the Town Ballroom tonight. Forming in Athens, Georgia in 1996, their raucous and crunchy guitars recall No Depression era Uncle Tupelo in addition to the great Southern Rock sound of the 70s as the band continues to record on strictly analog. The band's 2001 release, Southern Rock Opera, saw the band take a swing at the rock opera/concept record that gained notoriety in the 60s(Tommy) and 70s(The Wall). The band remains a model of consistency as their 2011 release Go-Go Boots, continues to see them expand their traditional Southern Rock sound while expanding into country soul. Doors to tonight's Drive-By Truckers show open at 7:00pm. Tickets are $28.
