Baltimore's echoey & fuzzed out rock group Lower Dens will be playing tonight at The Ninth Ward. Fronted by Jana Hunter, the group performs songs that have a lo-fi rock drone backdrop with fragile ghost-like vocals on the surface. Hunter was the first artist to release an album under Devendra Banhart's label Gnomonsong and has also performed with like-minded cohorts CocoRosie and Phosphorescent. Opening the show will be Buffalo's own ghostly rock drone outfit, Applennium, who are quickly become one our favorite local bands of 2011. Tickets are only 13 bucks and doors open at 7, show starts at 8.
