Over the weekend I got my hands on Lowercase & Lofty’s new mixtape, Japan on My Mind. Lowercase & Lofty are Miami based emcees when combined create bluntastic chilled out hip-hop beats with original with entertaining lyrics (think Madlib beats with Odd Future’s unique flows). I am 99% sure Lofty says “shrimptarded,” in the track “MY Party” which samples the 1960s classic from Lesley Gore “It’s My Party.” While still brand new to the blogosphere, it’s only a matter of time before the hip-hop heads embrace this summer staple.
