Just Announced: Kyuss Lives! @ Town Ballroom!

Yep. You read correctly. Everybodies favorite (and some say the first true) stoner rock band is back. For those who don't know what I'm talking about, travel with me back to the early 1990's. Part desert-blues, part Sabbath stoner riff and part grunge crunch, Kyuss were lighting up the circuit with their seminal releases, Blues for the Red Sun, and Welcome to Sky Valley. Not jogging your memory yet? Maybe you remember them as Josh Homme and Nick Oliveri's first band, before forming a little known band that nobody has ever heard about, Queens of the Stone Age. Point is, if you haven't heard Kyuss you are missing out. They were one of the greats from that era, which makes the recent announcement so (shockingly) exciting. No one ever thought this band would reunite. Unfortunately, things are sometimes too good to be true, as Hommes, singer and principal songwriter, will not be singing for them on this tour; Bruno Fevery, their guitarist, will be handling vocal duties this time out. Hommes has stated countless times that he was not interested and the guys didn't even ask him this time around. Nevertheless, the band is powerful enough live that it's still worth checking out anyway. Kyuss Lives! will be taking their show to Town Ballroom on Tuesday December 6th with openers and fellow riff savages, the Sword. My suggestion to you: If you like bands like Sabbath, Priestess, groove, sick riffs and hard rock, do yourself a favor and just be there. Tickets are $21 advance.
