This past weekend, Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney did an interview after the band played Atlanta's Midtown Music Festival with local station DaveFM, and said that there are no plans to release a new Blakroc album anytime soon. A couple weeks ago, we reported on an online trailer appearing on producer Damon Dash's Youtube channel claiming the album was coming soon, however Carney said it was that was not supposed to come out. The 9 tracks were recorded around the same time as the first Blakroc album, and both Carney and publicists have confirmed the only album they are readying to release is the highly anticipated new Black Keys album (produced by Dangermouse). The songs are most likely the tracks that got cut from the first Blakroc album, and the video was an unauthorized leak by someone in Dash's organization. There are no plans for another Blakroc album yet, so fans will just have to be patient and enjoy the new Black Keys album in the interim. Check out Carney's full interview with DaveFM below.
