Just last week it was Purity Ring, now another female led electro pop group will be making it's way through town as Class Actress will make a stop at Mohawk Place tonight. Anyone who has recently been listening to Sirius XM U, the indie rock channel of sorts on Satellite Radio, has probably heard the group's single "Keep You" at some point. Former coffee house singer-songwriter turned synth popper Elizabeth Harper's sultry vocals are backed by an R&B esque beat and particularly catchy hook. Fans of Mazzy Star, Depeche Mode, Purity Ring, and Buffalo's own Love Scenes would be wise to catch the group.
Also playing tonight will be fellow female pop act Astronaut Head. The brainchild of Jesse Stoddard, the indie piano pop solo artist is fresh off the release of her debut EP Strange Animals and has continued to keep busy as she prepares to leave for Edinburgh for a couple years for grad studies. This looks to be Stoddard's last Buffalo appearance in some time so make sure to arrive early to catch her. Rounding out the bill will be Badmilk. The indie jazz rock trio just played the Bidwell Indie 5000 a couple weeks back, and it looks like this may be their last show for a while as they plan on recording some new material.
Tonight's Class Actress show with Astronaut Head and Badmilk begins at 8:00pm. Cover is $10.
