Tonight: Foo Fighters

Tonight at HSBC arena - err, the First Niagara Center - Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters bring their blend of pop and alternative rock to town. Grohl is a true rock-and-roll hero; it's a testament to his talent and longevity that he is on tour as a frontman, singer, and guitarist while radio stations across the nation celebrate the 20th anniversary of Nevermind, the legendary album from Nirvana, a band in which Grohl was the drummer. His other projects have included work with Queens of the Stone Age and Them Crooked Vultures as a drummer. Those three bands are heavy-hitting and dark, but when Grohl is at the front of the stage rather than the back, his pop sensibility comes to light. The Foo Fighters have been churning out catchy hits for over a decade now, and tonight's show will likely be a showcase of the Foos' entire career.
