Tonight: Great Lake Swimmers

Fans of autumnal and reflective folk rejoice! Tonight at Babeville's Ninth Ward, the Great Lake Swimmers are set to play. Forming in Toronto in 2003, the indie folk outfit, who offer their own take on Americana as did their Canadian fore fathers The Band did years back, recalls the lush and intimate folk moments that bands like Horse Feathers, Iron & Wine, and Sufjan Stevens, at least before he completely spazzed out, do oh so well. Opening the show tonight are Buffalo's indie folk super group of sorts The Pharaoh Moans. Featuring members of Reverend Soapbox & the Rabbel Rousers and Ladies & Gentlemen, the act's dark folk sound will be the perfect mood setter for a great night of folk. Doors for tonight's Great Lake Swimmers show open at 7:00pm. Tickets are $15.
