Only recently was I introduced to HEALTH, a noise rock band out of L.A. I am one to often type everything thing in caps even though it is deemed unacceptable and insists that one is yelling. Naturally when I saw a bands name in all caps, I was instantly interested. Their music is exactly what they are categorized as: "noise rock." There is not a better label for these guys, they manage to fit this noise in to heavy vocal melodies, raging riffs, all over an ear piercing hum. The last thing I would expect from HEALTH would be for them to cover something out of their element. This floaty cover of "Goth Girl" by Travis Egedy, better known as Pictureplane, shows the bands diversity and ability to step out of the norm. The track has a nice twanging beat and the vocals are not too overbearing, making this a excellent adaptation.
