A few days ago a website called Wanna Buy A Van? popped up with an advertisement featuring former Mr. Show star Bob Odenkirk trying to sell (and poorly I might add) a used, 1994 El Camino van. The van has about a quarter million miles on it, woodie panels, black vinyl seats, and is "priced to sell". Odenkirk says it is available as of Dec. 6th, and at the end of the video there is a still screen that tells the audience the real purpose of the video: the Black Keys new album, El Camino, will be available on Dec. 6th. The website features a message board that essentially has spoiled the "secret", and the ad says to call Pat or Dan about the van at the number (330) 510-1206. When you call a brief message from drummer Pat Carney plays about the van for sale, and you are prompted to leave a message (one can only assume they will be recording them as there is a "beep"). The bands affinity for the vintage recording devices they have been using perhaps has played into this, and there's a good chance this may have been their first touring van. Either way, it's probable that for the right price, someone might be able to take the El Camino off their hands.
