I always hoped I would never have to write this post, but another great person has been taken from the world yesterday. On October 5th, 2011, Apple co founder, Steve Jobs, passed away surrounded by his loved ones. Apples website released this statement, "Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple." Jobs, known for being a radical and an innovator, celebrated his different way of thinking. Steve praised the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, and the round pegs in the square holes.
As I sit here and write on my Macbook Pro, with my iPhone and iPod on the table, Apple products clearly have affected my life. Whether or not you own one or ten Apple products, you know the impression Steve Jobs and his company has left on the world is monumental. The iPod alone revolutionized the way people listen to their music and I really couldn't imagine not having my iPhone for the last four years. Steve battled cancer and a liver transplant, and finally stepped down as CEO in late August. He looked very sick at his last Apple keynote, but hid his condition very well. Unfortunately, all his wealth and resources were not enough to keep this revolutionary alive. CEO's from the top companies have expressed their sediments and grief, even the President put out a statement on the life of this great human being. So today, if you are using an Apple computer or put your iPod on in the car, just take a second to remember the man who gave you all these amazing products.
