Tonight: ANR

Florida natives ANR will be playing at Mohawk Place tonight as part of their fall tour that kicked off earlier this month. The duo of Brian Robertson and Michael-John Hancock have been going non-stop since their debut album Stay Kids was released in March 2011, following it up with a tour through the UK, a late summer run through North America and three spots at CMJ Marathon. It's safe to say these are artists that like to stay busy.

A worthy addition to the new psychedelic sound, ANR got its start as Awesome New Republic putting out self-released tracks and gaining some buzz from acts like Gang Gang Dance and Animal Collective. Since abbreviating the name, the group has refined its sound, carefully drenching it in synths and leaving plenty of space for Animal Collective-esque echoes. The title track of this year's release has been remixed by both Millionyoung and Memory Tapes and is appropriately accompanied by a video featuring children going to town on the group's instruments and running around with streamers and balloons while Hancock sings, "stay young."

Doors open at 7 p.m. tonight, tickets are $10.
