Tonight: Guitar Masters

Tonight, the Tralf is celebrating the art of guitar by playing host to three of the world's best guitarists in Antoine Dufour, Stephen Bennett, and Andy McKee (a personal favorite). All three are proficient in the slap / finger-picking style known as drifting, and create elegantly composed, lyrical, instrumental guitar pieces that are incredibly moving. All three use regular 6-strings (occasionally with a capo), and a harp guitar to compose their pieces; and Bennett occasionally mixes in his 1930's steel resonator or a baritone guitar as well. All have benfitted greatly from their "transposition" to the internet, with McKee and Dufour meriting millions upon millions of views on youtube, and Bennett is often referred to as "the Jedi master of fingerstyle guitar". Dufour, a French-Canadian, and his two American counterparts are extremely well traveled, seasoned musicians, and know the acoustics of their equipment as if it were an extension of their own body. This will be an exemplary night of musicianship, and there is no better venue for it than the Tralf. The show gets started around 8 PM, and tickets are $25 if you do not yet have them.
