The original lineup of Bela Fleck and the Flecktones - banjoist Bela Fleck, bass virtuoso Victor Wooten, harmonica/pianist Howard Levy, and drumitar/percussionist Roy "Future Man" Wooten - is performing together for the first time in 20 years, and the Center for the Arts at the University at Buffalo is lucky enough to be a stop on the tour. The Flecktones' blend of bluegrass, jazz, and fusion will delight music lovers, and the musicians' technical skills will be sure to leave jaws dropped. Fleck revolutionized the way that people view the banjo. Victor Wooten is widely considered to be the greatest bassist alive. Levy plays the harmonica and piano at the same time. And Future Man invented his own instrument, the drumitar, which is exactly what it sounds like: a drum kit in the shape of a guitar. It's a show you won't want to miss if you are a fan of true musicianship. Show starts at 7:30 p.m., and admission is $42 or $37 ($32 for students).
