Neo-psychedelic indie-rockers My Morning Jacket are ending 2011 with a few stocking stuffers. The first is a 7 track Christmas EP available only on iTunes, and is adeptly entitled iTunes Sessions. The EP features two new tracks never before released, a reprise of "Wonderful" from the Circuital album, a slew of Christmas classics, and 2 collaborations with Seattle indie-folk band The Head and The Heart. Fans will note this is not the first time they have done a holiday album, as they released one in 2000 that features fan favorite "Xmas Curtain". On top of the Christmas EP, they also will be releasing limited edition 7" to independent record stores, which features a song rejected from the new Muppets' film, entitled "Friends Again". The B-side will be what has been called an "alternate universe take" of Circuital track "Outta My System". This is no doubt a continuation from their work on the Muppets' Green Album, for which they covered classic Muppet track "Our World". iTunes Sessions is available starting today for digital download, and the Friends Again single will be available (again in limited release) starting next week.
