On Saturdays, I usually hang out in the back alleys of the Internet where I scour music share threads. This past weekend I got a hold of the LA based trio The Miracals, EP Hermosa. This EP is one of the sunniest, poppiest, clean sounding indie releases I’ve heard since the last Vampire Weekend album. The band, formerly known as The Smiles, had to change their band name in order to avoid a potential lawsuit from a local dentistry. If you are a fan Vampire Weekend, the Beach Boys, or a breezier Drums then you should check these bad boys out. The best part about this band is that the they has a pay-what-you-want download option on their bandcamp. I am going to spend the rest of the day grilling in some jean shorts in my driveway in denial that summer is four months away. Check out their track “Cala Cola.”
