The Drum Machine Report

Cry woe to the bleeding hearts and desperate souls thinking that they will find love or that love will find them. For shame to the once lovers now tangled up in the commercial routine of Saint Valentine’s Day gifts in exchange for coitus. To truly be in love is to be completely vulnerable to every experience. Follow your own true path first.
Those jilted by love and those blinded by love, let us all come together and share in what we all can agree on. This upcoming weekend and week are going to flutter by, but you can catch out some fancy dance music if you look in the right spots.
friday 2/10
friday night riot

10p-4a
Free/21+ $5/18+
BAYOU
79 w. chippewa st. Buffalo, NY
This edition of the Friday Night Riot hosted by DJ SUNGLASSES MIKE will feature POTENT J, who I have come to know as an excellent local DnB DJ. Clearly that type of dance won’t fly on Chippewa, so when I checked in with SGM, I asked what’s up with that? He said that at the last Fiasco Party at Bayou, J killed it with a set of bumpin’ Electro House. Hmm. Very interesting.
saturday 2/11
friction

10p-4a
21+
DBGB’S
253 allen st. Buffalo, NY
This Friction will certainly be Bass heavy with the return of previous QCC out-of-town guests, BRYZERGOLD and SMIRK from Orlando, FL and Cincinnati, OH respectively. Also performing will be TEMPERS ROUGE and the infamous STUNTMAN who opened for Caspa last week. Really coming through in the clutch in the absence of DJ Friction, Stunt opened the show, then passed off to Bones Jones, then took over again with another entirely different set of Dubstep classics that the kiddos never knew they even liked! Needless to say it was a huge hit! Look for sparks to fly when he takes the stage around 1130.

tuesday 2/14
rusko

8-12
SOLD OUT/All Ages
TOWN BALLROOM
681 main st. Buffalo, NY
A love for music will take place this Valentine’s Day. And what better way to consummate that bond than having RUSKO make romantic love to your eardrums? I can think of none. Rusko or Christopher Mercer, is one of the most well known music producers in the whole world right now. And there’s a reason for that. Because he’s extremely fucking talented. When you first hear his productions you KNOW this is not just someone who learned how to use Ableton or Logic, but rather someone who went to Music school and can read written Music. Rusko’s first album OMG could be the quintessential Electronic albums for lovers of the Bass generation. Mercer’s next release Songs is slated to come out in March of this year, but you can hear and watch the video from the fist single “Somebody to Love” below. This video is absolutely an indication of what the party will be like! Check back to buffaBLOG for more on the day of the show. Also humbly opening the show will be local talents DJ MEDISON and SWAGGLEROCK, both will get this love-fest off to a good start.

Also don’t forget to check out the after-party at Soundlab! Rusko will be ending fairly early, so if you wanna keep going into the wee hours of the morning this is your best bet. And boy are we lucky to have THE MAD DECENT RUSKO AFTER-PARTY/LUVSTEP 3 ALBUM RELEASE PARTY with DIRTY SOUTH JOE AND FLUFFTRONIX along with CLICKS & WHISTLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That’s happening, in Buffalo mind you. Get after-party tickets HERE.

Strut yo stuff and do it safely. Much Love.
