Picking Up the Slack for MTV: Beirut

Since dropping last spring, eastern European Gypsy folk via New Mexico outfit Beirut's The Rip Tide has not left my rotation.  The album is Zach Condon and company's most charming and accessible release to date, and luckily for me, my favorite track on the album, "Vagabond", just got it's own music video.  The clip, which slightly reminds me of the National's Apartment Story video (but much less brooding and facial hair of course), is shot in black and white, features cadets, sailors, nurses, and more just looking for a little fun.  Excessive drinking and smoking, randy and inappropriate soliders, and what appears to be an early version of the "Cupid Shuffle" all highlight this rather pleasing clip.  Enjoy.
