Soundlab continues it's re-emergence as a formidable concert venue with a performance tonight from Portland based trip hop producer Emancipator. From what I understand, Emancipator has kicked things up for this tour, boasting state of the art visuals and featuring some live accompaniment from classical violinist Ilya Goldberg. You don't see too many violins at an electronic music show, but Emancipator's affinity for blending organic instrumentation with his beats is always tastefully done. London based Little People opens the show with his own brand of downtempo, with Natasha Kmeto infusing a little energy to the bill with some dirty electro pop. According to Mike Marshall's facebook, Tristan Ferguson's wall of homemade subwoofers have been brought in, so expect a lot of low end tonight.
