Tonight: The Merchants

The Merchants will be playing their last show tonight at Nietzsche’s (248 Allen St.). This talented trio has been largely under the radar in the Buffalo scene, mostly due to their zero internet presence they’ve had since the beginning of the project. I am actually surprised to find there is an event on Facebook. The Merchants have been together for almost a year, pumping out early 90’s grunge (Nirvana), gritty rock (Queens of the Stone Age, Black Keys) and mid 90’s nostalgia jams (Real Estate, Blind Melon). Two of the members, Gabe Nasca (bass) and Benjamin Maries (guitar/vocals) will be heading to Alaska to find their muse, leaving the project in hiatus until next year. Good luck on your travels, The Merchants. We look forward to your return in summer 2013 with songs inspired by the gold rush, grizzly bears, and Levi Johntson. Pete Sorkin, a singer-songwriter from the mean streets of New York City, will be opening for the threesome. Doors are at 10pm and there is a ZERO dollar cover. That means it's free, folks.
Buffalo is John Lithgow.
The Merchants are Harry.
