Tonight: Steak & Cake Record's 1 Year Anniversary Party

DYI record label Steak & Cake will be celebrating it's 1 year anniversary tonight at the Vault with a showcase of artists featured over the past 12 months on various Steak & Cake releases. It seemed like just yesterday that we came across a sampler from the Potomac based label, but since then, label founder Brandon Schlia and friends have put out a great selection of local releases, all at the always great name your own price, thrown one of our favorite parties of this past summer, the Bidwell Indue 5000, and begun to establish themselves as a fixture in the local music scene. Music begins tonight with a trio of singer/writers: CRAN aka Care Frandina, Damien Weber, and Leah Loefke of Love Scenes. The night will then shift to a trio of bands, two of which are Schlia projects, RACKMASTAs and the NYBRKFST, as well as Give it up for the Otter.

Cost for entrance tonight will be $10. Not only will your cover get you a night of great local music, but you will also go home with a 2011 year book of Steak & Cake's first year and a sampler of music. Plus, all proceeds tonight will go towards the 2nd annual Bidwell Indie 5000. Don't let this sudden and unfortunate winter snow keep you from making your way downtown tonight to help celebrate the first of many birthday parties for Steak & Cake Records.
