I don't know how the rest of you feel but this has been one of the best winters I can remember in my twenty-five years. Barely any snow, completely acceptable temperatures and not once getting my car stuck, hit by a plow(yeah that happened), or covered in salt. Snow does nothing for me but increase my stress and anger levels. Now, here we are, March has come and there can't be much more of winter to deal with. March begins a brand new season of festival lineup announcements and album releases. What better way to kick off the season then with the new release from Brooklyn based quartet, The Men.
The Mens' third release drops tomorrow and is set to get rave reviews. The Men, have dabbled in just about everything from black metal to psych to shoegaze to hardcore punk without missing a beat. For this release, The Men explore knock your socks off rock to twangy riffs with heavy country undertones and flashes of My Morning Jacket and Modest Mouse almost effortlessly. This experimentation on this album is sure to impress and really bring spring in full force. If this release is any indication of what might be in store for 2012, count me in and sign me up, because I am ready for it.
