Artist Spotlight: Sleepy Hahas

What can you say about Buffalo-based rock group Sleepy Hahas? They're kind of pretty awesome. I first discovered the band cruising Bandcamp looking for new local music. When I heard their insanely catchy "Blackest Sunshine" I was hooked. In fact, since I heard that track I haven't been able to get their Cranberry Juice and Battery Acid EP out of my stereo.

Sleepy Hahas have a sound that's a bit hard to describe. It's an amalgamation of indie rock, blues with hints of pyschedelia. Insanely catchy melodies, cooing choruses, and a beautiful organ, make for a really great listening experience. The music is dark. It's powerful. It's everything great about rock'n'roll.

The band have a show coming up April 2nd with buzz-band, Cloud Nothings at Babeville. See what all the hype is about.
