I feel like I am forever posting about M83 or "Midnight City", and that is probably because I am. I could have gone with any other cover out there right now, but I am just absolutely in love with this one. Taking two of my favorite songs spanning over 25 years to make a mash up that actually sounds amazing is worth talking about. Mr. and Mrs. Fox, are Rayanne Lepieszo and Ryan Isojima, ex members of Canadian band The Framework. These two have taken "Don't You (Forget About Me)" by Simple Minds, made extremely popular in John Hughes teen angst flick The Breakfast Club and M83's "Midnight City", made popular by well...everyone. The two tracks combine in to a very beautiful but simple melodic harmony and intertwine perfectly back and forth through both songs. This is a great track for sitting on the porch enjoying a cold one in this 80 degree March weather.
Mr. & Mrs. Fox are amazing. Check out their website www.mrandmrsfox.com for more free music. Canadian music industry is racist and because he's Japanese Canadian, the record industry won't touch him. They say they don't have an Asian market. He doesn't sing in Japanese......really stupid thing is that they love the music until they find out he's Asian.
