Tonight: Tour Warriors Showcase with The Cost of Living

Yet again, the good people at Steak & Cake are showing their utmost fervor for the advancement of DIY music. This time they’ve launched a concert series called ‘Tour Warriors’ which will serve to help talented/nomadic indie musicians set up gigs in Buffalo. Tonight that series will take off as The Vault hosts the indie punk-folk duo out of Stevens Point, WI, The Cost of Living. With Colin Bares’ hair-raising vocals against a backdrop of distorted barre-chords, the badger state twosome are a cross between a more resourceful Born Ruffians, and less twangy Black Lips. Their songs are fast, yet dynamic and spritely, often changing pace and mood several times within a consistant 170 second interval. Check out their Bandcamp site here to get a free download of their latest EP, The Poet Serves Her Sentence. Also, if you’re hip to supporting other DIY local acts, Space Cubs, Bourbon & Coffee, and Bryan Johnson & Family are all on the bill as well, so make sure you’re not taking your precious time to head over. Doors are at 8. Admission is a measly $5.
