just announced,
Nick,
Seahaven,
The Funeral Home
—
Every now and then, a young band with a small but dedicated cult following will dart through Buffalo and play an explosive show in someone's basement or a small, obscure venue. These kind of shows are always memorable. Something about the undying support of the local music scene makes these seemingly thrown-together shows feel like some sort of DIY magic. This time, the band is Seahaven, a four-piece from California that sounds like Jeff Mangum from Neutral Milk Hotel fronting a group of passionate indie-punks. Their newest release, Winter Forever, is full of accidental hooks and gritty introspective vocals; perhaps their most unique trait is singer Kyle Soto's folk-inspired voice. They'll be playing at The Funeral Home on October 4th with Buffalo-based support acts Real People, Rust Belt Lights, and The Traditional.
