Artist Spotlight,
local,

Virginia Wolves
—
As the end of summer comes creeping closer, it's always nice to honor those final dog-days with a fitting soundtrack. Conjuring up the kind of noise-pop you might find on an early Built to Spill record, or even a male-fronted version of Best Coast's sunny surf rock, Virginia Wolves offer the perfect kind of vibe to help savor the hot weather before it turns more "Buffalo-esque."
Virginia Wolves are as charmingly lo-fi as they are mysterious; a simple blue and yellow "VW" is the only sense of identity they seem obliged to give. One can't help but notice the interesting juxtaposition of their warm, indie jangle with the icy colors of the beloved Buffalo Sabres. As one astute fan noted, "I like how your logo is just Charlie Brown's t-shirt." Well said.
Virginia Wolves' mission is simple - "Writing/recording/not performing music, all month every month." Their current batch of songs is available for free on their bandcamp page.
