August Burns Red is the name of a metalcore band. It is also an appropriate description for our current atmospheric conditions. August was hot as hell and I felt like I was burning...burning red. Ok, that was lame. If you haven't heard ABR think crushing breakdowns, Unearth-esque vocals, and a capacity for technical, odd-meter riffage with a slight progressive slant. In other words, HEAVY.

ABR has been making waves for a few years now and have amassed quite the following, which is why so many kids will be breaking out their bandanna's tonight. The Pennsylvania boys will be making a stop at Town Ballroom (6pm, $22), along with another metalcore favorite, Of Mice and Men. What with this show and the upcoming Hatebreed show, I think it's fair to say there is no shortage of riff-struction in our near future. I now give you permission to bang your head.
