Oakland lo-fi artist Colleen Green brings her gritty take on indie pop to Buffaloʼs Ninth Ward tonight. A native of Massachusetts, Green moved to the Bay Area in 2008 where she began working on her home recordings, self-releasing an EP, 4 Loko 2 Kayla, and Milo Goes to Compton on cassette tape. These releases caught on in the indie blogosphere and Green was signed by Hardly Art records. Her live performances consist of merely a guitar and drum machine, creating a hazy minimal pop sound that she calls “stoner pop” and is undeniably catchy.
