Just Announced: Sufjan Stevens Holiday Concert

Earlier this month, we previewed Sufjan Stevens' upcoming 58 song holiday collection, which will be released in a number of formats on November 13. Today, Stevens has announced a tour in support of the album called the "Surfjohn Stevens Christmas Sing-A-Long: Seasonal Affective Disorder Yuletide Disaster Pageant on Ice."

Whatever that means, and your guess is as good as mine, the tour will be making a stop in Buffalo on December 18 at Asbury Hall. Opening for Stevens will be Sheila Saputo.

Ticket information has yet to be posted. Meanwhile, should you be interested, a list of other dates on this tour can be found here.

  1. are you looking for an opener for this?

  2. So confused. So you're telling us that Sufjan's coming to Buffalo (which is amazing) and he's actually going to be playing in Asbury (which is even more amazing) but he's only going to be playing Christmas songs?! As the "Dyngus Day Capital of the World" don't you think it would be fitting if Sufjan graced us with "Casimir Pulaski Day?"

Well, as long as he's still not wearing papier-mâché wings and neon colored gaffer tape on stage I'll take it.
