Roger Bryan & the Orphans to release new EP

2012 has been on the quiet side for Roger Bryan and his Orphans.  That's not to say the members have been sitting around doing nothing.  Orphans' drummer Mike Sobieraj released a documentary titled My City Limits, which was soundtracked by Bryan.  While he is not recording at his Hi-Lo Studios, guitarist Matt Smith put out a great release of retro power pop under the name of Matt Smith & the Immediates.  And you can almost always find guitarist Erik Roesser behind the bar on any given night over at Mohawk Place, but outside of a few out of town gigs, and the marriage of their front man, the Orphans have been laying low.

Next Friday though at Mohawk Place, the band will release their latest collection of music, the Stop to Start EP.  Just yesterday, they made the first single to the EP, the title track, available for streaming on their bandcamp page.  Bryan's vocals, which can easily be mistaken for fellow Americana rocker Ryan Adams at first glance, are ushered in with a simple strum as the track begins.  It doesn't take long, though, before the triple guitar attack that made the Orphan's 2011 release 37 so good to take the song over.  Give the track a listen for yourself below.
