The Rapids Theater
—
Funk metal band Primus makes a stop at the Rapids Theater (1711 Main Street) in Niagara Falls this evening. Tonight's show is part of a tour the band calls the "first ever traveling 3D-enhanced live musical performance." This unique show will feature 3D visual effects and a quad surround sound system to offer a psychedelic experience like none other attempted. They will be performing two sets full of Les Claypool's signature bass slapping, Larry LaLonde's distorted guitar, and a wild beat on drums from Jay Lane.
I have seen Primus twice before and both times they offered a great experience, most recently in Rochester where they also played two sets. The first set was a selection of their hits from all over their career and the second set was their most recent album Green Naugahyde in its entirety. In between the two sets, old Popeye cartoons played on the screen so there will be no shortage of entertainment at this show. Doors open at 6:30 and tickets are $50.
