Former Neutral Milk Hotel frontman and sort of musical recluse Jeff Mangum will kick off his winter solo tour with a performance at Asbury Hall on January 9th, thanks to the fine folks over at ESI Events. After releasing one of the seminal indie albums of the 90's in In the Aeroplane Over The Sea (most recently coming in at #4 on Pitchfork's People's List) in 1998, Mangum broke the band up soon after and disappeared from the public eye. Over the last couple years, he has begun playing live again, while playing a role in the Occupy Wall Street movement. Tickets for Mangum's solo show, which features support from Tall Firs and Briars, go on sale this Thursday (11/15) at noon for $35. Additional ticket information can be found at his website.
