Uncovered Covers: Chromatics cover "Blue Moon"

As we start to approach the end of another year in music, one of the better moments of 2012 that should be remembered is the return of Chromatics.  Way back in April, the Portland based band released their first album in five years, the critically acclaimed Kill for Love, which will most certainly be appearing on many best of lists as December hits.  A few of us has a chance to catch the band in Chicago this summer for a Pitchfork Festival After Party at Chicago's Lincoln Hall, and we were equally blown away.  A couple weeks back, band member Johnny Jewel released the 35 min Running for the Sun, a collection of unleashed and alternative tracks from the Kill for Love sessions.  The closing track on the album is a near a capella cover of the classic song "Blue Moon."  The loneliness of the tune perfectly fits in with the late night feel of Kill for Love.  Listen to their cover below, and while you are at it, go ahead and download Running for the Sun on  Jewel's soundcloud page for free.
