When former Girls frontman Christopher Owens announced that he would be releasing his debut solo album, Lysandre, back in October of last year along with a string of East coast tour dates that included a stop at Toronto's Mod Club, the opportunity to head north to see the singer/songwriter was quickly seized. Tonight, along with his eight piece band complete with medieval fifes and back-up singers, we get a chance to witness the San Francisco artist perform cuts from his new record which takes its name and narrative from a woman he met at a festival while touring with Girls. Owens has called the album "a coming of age story, a road trip, a love story" which is evident from the emotional honesty the singer delivers that marked the three Girls records. Tickets for tonight's show are $20, with doors opening at 7pm for an early show.
