Tonight: Blouses of the Holy

"The essential ingredient for any successful rock group is energy - the ability to give out energy, to receive energy from the audience, and give it back to the audience. A rock concert is in fact a rite involving the evocation and transmutation of energy. Rock stars may be compared to priests...
In the Led Zeppelin concert, the result aimed at would seem to be the creation of energy in the performers and the audience. For such magic to succeed, it must tap the sources of magical energy, and this can be dangerous."
 -William S. Burroughs

Burroughs' quote captures the mysterious glory of 1970s rock group, Led Zeppelin. Their presence is legendary and inexplicably awe-inspiring. For those who fell undeniably in love with them, it's a connection that lasts a lifetime. The many forms of covers prove their music mastery; philharmonic orchestras have done performances entirely of Zeppelin, tribute bands scatter the world, and their songs have been covered countless times.

A tribute is made for the rock Gods tonight when local Buffalo talent comes together for the 12th annual Blouses of the Holy. Performers include Yogurt Club, Feck, Jeff Miers, LED, and Kari Czubinski to name a few. Psychedelic visuals will be provided by Jeff Garbaz who has done visual work for an extensive list of major acts including Lou Reed, Béla Fleck, The Flaming Lips, and the Killers.

Check out this video of Kari Czubinski's past performance, opening their set with "Going to California."
