The wake of Mohawk Place had left many small-mid sized national acts without a place to play while routing through Buffalo. One of the venues that has stepped up and taken advantage of the club's passing is the Tralf. With said opportunity in hand, tonight the music hall welcomes Beach Fossils, a band who, had Mohawk Place still be in business, would probably be gracing their stage tonight rather than the theatre district spot. The Brooklyn based beach rockers released their self titled debut, a laid back collection of hazy jangle pop, back in 2010. Since then, the band has seen some shifting in their lineup, most notably Zachary Cole Smith leaving to focus on his DIIV project, but no matter. Their sophomore release, Clash the Truth, was just released last week on Captured Tracks Records, and sees a more fully fleshed out, energetic spirit injected into the band's lo-fi sound.
Doors for tonight's Beach Fossils show open at 7pm with music kicking off at 8pm. Buffalo lo-fi buzz duo Space Wolves will make up part of the evening's support. Tickets are $14 at the door.
