The old-school hip hop deprived need not go hungry any longer. Essential Vitamins Crew, one of the longest standing hip hop collectives in Buffalo, along with local hip hop luminaries Charlie the Butcher, DJ Optimus Prime, Camaican Sensation and BRSKNRG, will be dolling out the freshest cuts on wax tonight at Duke’s Bohemian Grove Bar. Wax cuts aren’t the only thing they’re dolling out this year, as the urban-flavored enclave is gearing up to release the most material they have ever produced thus far in the upcoming months.
“It’s going to be a big year for Buffalo hip hop and the Essential Vitamins Crew. We have been spending a lot of late nights in the studio making so much music and the crew as a whole is pumped that we finally get to put it out. Expect a lot from us this year,” said EVC member Jeffrey Kreuz, widely known as Legal the Lifesaver to Buffalo hip hop heads. Legal’s solo album, Game of Life, set to drop in early spring, will feature beats by Cove Blackbelt, Ajent O, and Mello Jay. The crew also collaborated with international talent Jae Fresh from the United Kingdom. Guest spots are courtesy of Buffalo’s own Dr. Ooo, Mad Dukez, Mic Excel and Specill K. Lady EVC member Jay G's album Food for Thought is scheduled to drop soon, as well as Covert and Specill K's collaboration, Blackbelt Jones. Be on the lookout and visit the EVC Facebook to keep current on all of their latest projects.
Shake away those boombox blues, jump into the boom bap. Party with EVC and some of Buffalo's best DJs and keep the wax spinning all night long. FRESH CUTS begins at 9 pm. Cover is $5. Get it while it’s hot.
