buffaBLOG Road Trip: alt-J (∆)

Well, the day has finally arrived. I have not been to Toronto since I was eight years old. Before that, I was in the womb when my mother went to Toronto a week or so before my due date to see Phantom of the Opera. When I was a freshman in college, my dreams of adventures in Buffalo included frequented trips to Canada; I rushed to get my passport. It has been about four years and I've been to Canada once, just over the border for a few hours to go to the beach.

Today the road trip commences. And tonight under the full moon, I'll be seeing alt-J.

Since my initial artist spotlight on alt-J a few months ago, their popularity has skyrocketed. Originally, tonight's show was booked to take place at Phoenix Concert Theater but due to high-demand the show was moved to Sound Academy. The Cambridge born band has been making serious moves: performed a sold-out show at Terminal 5 in New York City and even traveled down South for the iconic SXSW festival.

I'm truly excited that over a decade later, the reason I'm finally going to Toronto is to see alt-J tonight. Stay tuned for the review of my Northern adventures.
