Kylesa will be releasing a new album, Ultraviolet, in late May, and the latest track, "Quicksand," is rather epic. Alternating between the sludgy and the soaring, "Quicksand" moves forward at a driving pace. Lead vocalist, Laura Pleasants, can be heard, artfully buried beneath the guitar riffs and percussion. The end result is a song that brings to mind the best of heavier early to mid 90's rock. When the drums finally careen to the end of the song, I was definitely left feeling that maybe this song had ended too soon.
