Spoon frontman Brit Daniel's side project just released the first couple tracks from his latest band.  Not the Divite Fits, his other side project:  Split Single.  Featuring Daniel, John Wurster of Mountains Goats and Superchunk, and Jason Narducy of Verbow, Split Single sounds to be carrying on the power pop legacy of Big Star, esspecially on the stand out track "Last Goodbye."  The dreamy ballad, which has just the right amount of shimmer, is led by Narducy, whose vocals could be a dead ringer for former Big Star leader Alex Chilton  No further news is available on if and when Split Single will release their debut.  In the mean time, enjoy.
