The B-side to The Strokes’ upcoming 7-inch release of their “All The Time” single, “Fast Animals” is, true to its name, a more upbeat take on “Slow Animals,” a cut from their latest release Comedown Machine. Julian Casablancas and his bandmates give a more forceful performance here, as compared to the laid back 80s groove on the album version. Not altogether much different than “Slow Animals,” “Fast Animals” is still an interesting alternate take on the same idea, with “Fast Animals” being the more prototypically Strokes-sounding version of the song. Comedown Machine is out today, with our review coming Friday.
